Musky on a Walleye Rod

On my way out of Izaty's Marina for an afternoon of walleye fishing with a friend and what do I see?  A 47" Musky basking on the rocks.  With only walleye rods, I grabbed my medium weight baitcaster (line counter and all).  It only took 2 casts before she hammered my Johnson Silver Minnow and I've got her hooked at the end of my 15lb fireline.  Next thought was no musky net, looks like I'm landing this fish by hand.  Watch the video to see the fight and the end result. 

 

It pays to keep your eyes open on Mille Lacs - there are just too many opportunities for great fish!
